Nadia Sirota plays the Muhly viola concerto with the LSO

  • The Orpheum Theater 129 Roosevelt Way New Orleans, LA USA (map)

Nadia joins The Louisiana Symphony in New Orleans, with Ryan McAdams, conducting.

Two pieces by Ralph Vaughan Williams begin the program, Hymn Tune Prelude on Song 13 and Two Hymn-tune Preludes. Violist Nadia Sirota joins the LPO to perform Nico Muhly’s Viola Concerto, a piece composed specifically for her. Composed for his patroness, Nedezhda von Meck, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony is a larger metaphor for the inevitability of fate, and, as fate would have it, ends the program.
